There are four day nurseries for the benefit of student-parents, sponsored by the Dean of Students of the Hebrew University, in all four campuses: Mount Scopus, Edmond J. Safra, Ein Kerem and Rechovot. The nurseries accept infants aged 2-10 months (once an infant is accepted he can remain until the end of the academic year). Mothers may come to the nurseries at any time in order to nurse the child. There is a carer for every five infants.
Registration for the nursery can be on a daily basis (e.g., Mondays and Wednesdays regularly throughout the first semester) or on a one-time basis with one day’s notice. As of the 2011/2012 academic year the price is NIS 85 for a day of 8.5 hours. NIS 20 is added for an additional two hours at the end of the day.
Further information can be obtained from Idit Nakash, director of the Mount Scopus and Edmond J. Safra nurseries, Emunah Foundation 0524239586, from 9:00 to 14:00, or by email.
Consolidated information about additional nurseries at the university can be found on the Student Union website.
